Coast

The Ocean flows influence the climate. The rain season lasts from January to April and the temperature is usually around 25°C to 30° C with a lot of humidity in the air. From May until December there is less rain, it's a bit cooler, less humid but usually more cloudy.

Highlands

The highlands are colder than most people think. It's as if all four seasons pass in one day! The rain season lasts from November until May. During the rain season it doesn't rain all day; usually it only rains for a couple of hours in the afternoon. The height of the temperature depends on the altitude you're on; the temperature in Quito is for example between 5°C and 25° C the whole year round, with an average of 15°C.

Jungle

In the jungle you can have a lot of rain, especially in the afternoons and at night. April, May and June are the wettest months, and it is almost as hot here as it is at the coast.
